06/19/2013 Demand-Side Strategies in Vocational Rehabilitation; Responding to the Workforce Needs of Business

Date: June 19th, 2013

Time: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM (Eastern)

PresenterRobert Burns, ICI Senior Policy Specialist; Susan Foley, ICI Principal Investigator; Hugh Bradshaw, Business Relations Specialist, Vermont VR.

Summary: The Research and Rehabilitation Center’s mission is to research, demonstrate and disseminate evidence-based practices by state Vocational Rehabilitation agencies (SVRA) which are designed and respond to the “demand-side”/employer perspective in the dual-customer approach to delivering VR services.  The expected outcome of these demand-side practices is to increase employment, earnings and retention of persons with significant disabilities served by SVRAs.  The content of this presentation is to provide (1) an update/overview of the RRTC and (2) discuss the efforts and experience of the Vermont VR agency in designing and implementing an innovative demand-side strategy.

Continuing Education Credits: Participants can submit an application for post-approval to CRCC for CRC continuing education credits on an individual basis. To apply for post-approval of continuing education, see the instructions located in the CRC/CCRC Criteria for Certification Renewal & Continuing Education manual and the associated documentation.
