Job Development Instrument
The instrument is grounded in Granovetter's theory of strength of weak ties that states an individual's acquaintances are more helpful at helping the individual get a job than are the individual's close friends and family. This theory has been extensively studied on multiple populations, except people with disabilities.
Below are presentations explaining an overview of the theory and pilot study. This includes responsibilities of the client and counselor/job developer, as well as the responsibilities of the counselor/job developer while participating in the pilot study.
There are also presentations on how to conduct the interviews, fill out the forms, and conduct the 15 minute follow-up phone call.
