The taxonomy of specialized and essential knowledge that defines the practice of rehabilitation counseling. This structure has been empirically validated through 3 large-scale national research initiatives over the course of 15 years of study. It reflects the CRCC identified domains and sub domains and is most recently informed by the study described in the Rehabilitation Counseling Bulletin, volume 52 (Leahy, Muenzen, Saunders, & Strauser, 2009). Leahy et al. identified 3 factors. A fourth factor is included for "Clinical Supervision" to preserve the taxonomy established by CRCC for domain focus areas for continuing education (see Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certfication, 2008).
