The purpose of this module is to utilize all the work you have done to help obtain employment and promotion and tenure.
The work that you have completed demonstrates professional development, service, and research—all valued work for securing employment and promotion and tenure.

Teaching Philosophy
How you would create a course and syllabus
How you will implement different pedagogical techniques and assessments to assess student learning
The principles of SoTL, action research, and how they can be utilized to inform your practice and student learning
Application Performance
Review all the work you have completed and discuss it with a learning partner. Continue to revise your work to reflect your continued development
Develop a few key phrases and points to discuss in your future interview
Prepare a teaching unit (some institutions request a teaching demonstration and not a research presentation).
Formalize your teaching philosophy (some institutions require a teaching philosophy as part of the application material).

Taking Stock: Promotion & Tenure
Completing this training and documenting your work would easily fit into your portfolio under professional development and teaching. Many institutions value re-designing courses and or implementing new pedagogical techniques.
If you chose to embrace SoTL and complete an action research study you have documentation of your ability to develop and carry out research.
By developing a learning community to discuss SoTL issues you are providing  service to your profession.

This training provides multiple opportunities for you to produce documentation to include in promotion portfolio—examples include
Teaching Philosophy
Including assessment and pedagogy
Syllabus to illustrate a new or re-designed course
Action Research proposal
Publication/Presentation based on your action research

Application Performance
Review all the work you have completed and discuss it with a learning partner. Continue to revise your work to reflect your continued development
To further demonstrate development, revise your philosophy every year or so. Your teaching philosophy will become a living document with direct application to your work
Develop a spread sheet to record your student evaluations making sure to clarify how students are learning more now that you are embracing SoTL
Keep a record of the conversations you are having with colleagues regarding teaching
