Accreditation is a process in which certification of competency, authority or credibility is presented. Institutional accreditation is certification that the organization meets quality of standards as defined by the accrediting body. When a institution loses its accreditation, it is usually a death sentence for that program.
Various accrediting bodies are relevant to the rehabilitative counselor.
The Commission on Rehabilitative Counselor Certification (CRCC) is the accrediting organization that administers examination and Certified Rehabilitative Counselor (CRC) certifications. Rehabilitative counseling education that leads to a CRC (Certified Rehabilitative Counselor) designation is CORE or the Council on Rehabilitative Education accredited.
